Complex and financial diagnostics of a real company

Controlling and budgeting

Basing on its results, students will be able to give a general evaluation of state of the company’s business, describe its weaknesses and strengths, formulate strategic alternatives of development, and analyze financial documents. To evaluate financial flexibility and prospects of the company’s growth, to develop financial policy optimal for the company. Upon completion of this module, students will be able to formulate the accounting policy for their companies, to develop the programme of “saving up”, to manage costs, to determine the organization and financial arrangement of the company, to form the master-budget according to the development priorities, and  to conduct efficient operational and financial controlling.

Investment design with use of real options

Risk management and hedging instruments

Upon completion of this module, students will be able to develop and value investment projects; they will learn how to make efficient investment decisions on the basis of modern technologies and procedures including real options as the most promising instrument of qualitative investment management. According to the results of this module, students will be able to model, measure and optimize company’s risks, develop a complex system of corporate risk management; they will know the theory and practice of risk hedging with application of basic and structured derivatives.

Elaboration and evaluation of strategy options aimed at growth of the company’s value

Corporate finance and capital markets

According to the results of this module, students will be aware of the paradigm of corporate values and will be able to apply this criterion when selecting the optimal development course of their company. They will master matrix models of the company’s positioning with due account for its life cycle and will be able to give specific recommendations on progressive development of this company.
According to the results of this module, students will learn about the famous portfolio theory, and basic methods of securities valuation.

Mergers and acquisitions

Financial mathematics and computer modeling

A new module that will teach students to become active participants of M&A deals, to determine the price of these deals, to be able to distribute the abnormal yield from mergers and acquisitions, and to develop and apply the most efficient forms of financing (design, corporate, mezzanine, venture and etc.)
An updated model, which in addition to the skills of compounding interests calculation, standard deviations, methods of risk evaluation and etc., will provide the students with an opportunity to get acquainted and work with the best computer software in the area of applied and managerial finance.

IFRS and consolidated statements

Within the framework of this module, the longest and the fullest course of IFRS in the Russian and English languages is offered to the students. According to its results, students will acquire skills of preparation of consolidated financial statements compulsory for Russian companies as early as in 2014.
